Festival of Flight 2012

Red Arrows display in 2011 at the Festival of Flight in Newcastle County Down

Now in its third year the Festival of Flight is well and truly anchored into everyone event diary in Northern Ireland and beyond as one of the best free family festivals around!

Don’t miss the opportunity to entertain the kids during the summer holidays from Monday 6 – Sunday 12 August there will be over 30 events happening in Newcastle and over half of them will be free so check out the festival programme for all the information and keep an eye on the Down Festivals Facebook page.

  • Balloon Modelling, Face Painting & Animated Stilt Walkers entertainment throughout the afternoon
  • U105 Roadshow with Maurice Jay & Julian Simmons on the Festival Stage on the Promenade
  • Static Helicopter Display in Donard Park
  • Air & Sea Rescue
  • Dazzling Aerobatic Displays including RAF Typhoon, BBMF DC3, Tucano & Hawk.
  • Six Ship Aerostars, Spitfire and more to be confirmed
  • James Huish and his Big Band plays American Swing on the Promenade
